AI innovation marathon
This is more than a hackathon. It is an AI programme for the whole organisation, condensed into three days. 30 to 150 employees. Several business-critical problems. Parallel tracks covering operations, customer service, analytics, product and HR at the same time.
Day 3 ends with your leadership team seeing it all live and deciding what gets implemented first. In three days you go from a strategy on a whiteboard to a concrete roadmap. The marathon can be facilitated in English or Danish, which suits teams spread across the Nordics.
No technical background needed. Participants come from every department. Our facilitators guide each team through the AI tools from start to finish.
Duration
3 days (24 hours)
Participants
30 to 150 people
Format
On-site
Parallel innovation tracks
What sets the innovation marathon apart from a standard hackathon is the parallel tracks: several teams working at the same time across the whole organisation.
Operations track
Automating manual processes, AI-assisted case handling and document processing
Customer track
Customer service automation, personalisation, AI-driven lead scoring and nurturing
Analytics track
Faster business intelligence with AI, forecasting models, anomaly detection and automated reporting
Product track
AI features in existing products, new AI-native product ideas and UX improvements
HR and knowledge track
Internal knowledge base, automated onboarding and mapping skills with AI
The tracks are adapted to your organisation. We add or remove tracks based on your specific business challenges.
What you take away
Prototypes across departments
With several parallel tracks you cover the potential of the whole organisation, not just one department.
An AI strategy backed by leadership
The CEO and the leadership team see the prototypes live, give feedback and commit to implementation. That gives the projects a firm footing in the organisation.
A 90-day AI roadmap
A prioritised implementation plan with resources, owners and KPIs, ready to present to the board.
AI skills across the organisation
30 to 150 employees get hands-on AI experience. That is enough people to drive change from inside the organisation.
A faster route to a pilot
Because the prototypes are built and judged in the same three days, the work on a pilot can start straight after.
The programme over three days
Strategy and challenge mapping
The CEO sets the strategic frame. What do we want to achieve? What is our ambition with AI?
A facilitated look at where the organisation stands with AI today and where the biggest opportunities for improvement are.
Parallel workshops in each department to identify the most important AI opportunities, led by our facilitators.
The best challenges are presented across departments, and the ones to work on during day 2 are chosen.
Teams are deliberately mixed across disciplines. Each team is assigned a track and a facilitator as mentor.
Intensive prototyping
Teams set their goal for the prototype. What must be ready to demo when building stops?
All teams build at the same time with no-code AI tools such as n8n and Claude. Facilitators visit every team each hour and help them move on.
Teams show each other where they are. Ideas are shared across teams and any changes of direction are decided.
The last push towards a prototype ready to demo. Prototyping stops at 15:30.
All focus is on a demo that works and a pitch that is sharp.
Teams pitch to each other and to the facilitators. Feedback and final polish.
Leadership pitch and roadmap
Last polish of pitch and demo. Facilitators are available for one-to-one coaching.
The CEO, the CFO and other key stakeholders see every prototype live. 7 minutes of pitch and 8 minutes of questions per team.
The leadership team deliberates and picks the projects to fast-track.
The winning projects are announced, every team is recognised and the effort is celebrated.
The facilitators present the overall AI plan: prioritised projects, resources and timeline.
The leadership team commits to specific next steps and resources for the prioritised projects.
A good fit if...
- Organisations with 30 to 150 participants that want to cover the AI potential of the whole business
- Companies that want parallel tracks across operations, customer service, HR and product
- Leadership teams that want senior commitment to AI from day one
- Organisations that need a 90-day roadmap with clear ownership
Perhaps not right if...
- Groups of fewer than 30 participants. See our two-day AI hackathon
- Organisations that do not need parallel tracks across departments
Tip: Not sure about the format? Start with a two-day AI hackathon and treat the innovation marathon as the next step when the organisation is ready.
